Linda is known for her award-winning works, recognized most for their bold palette and naive representations. Only quilting for 4 years, she has participated in many forms of fibre art and metalsmithing, and is known for creating elaborate and highly detailed designs. An International Award for one of her first efforts confirmed she had found her medium.

By profession she is an engineer and a mathematician, a background that is at once at odds with and complementary to her artistic expressions. She thinks spatially; her sculptural creations are a study in line and form. Her constructions are probably more a feat of engineering than anything else.

Her professional life has brought her to live in Southeast Asia, the US, and Ontario. An avid collector of primitive art, her work is most influenced by her Asian living experiences.

Chicken Scratches

48” x 42”

I had come across some alphabet fabric that worked well with some fabric with assorted stylized chickens on it.  Comments I often receive about my handwriting came immediately to mind.

Juego de Loteria – Tabla Uno

37” x 26”

La Loteria is an old game of chance played throughout Mexico. Popularized in the last half of the eighteenth century, it is still widely played at fêtes, festivals, fairs and carnivals in Mexico.
Despite its name, La Lotería most resembles a form of bingo using pictures
instead of numbers. The announcer uses humourous riddles often pertaining to current events or local personalities to enhance the fun.  The game is won when a player completes a line (in any direction) on his card, or tabla.  Juego de Loteria – Tabla Uno features many typically Mexican Icons.
Hand-dyed cotton fabric and threads.

Juried into the Canadian Quilters Association National Juried show, 2004.
