Serengeti Sunset

Vest, size M

This is a result of the wonderful Gara fabric my sister sent me during her two year stay in Sierra Leone, Africa.
I had fun experimenting with different fabrics and photo-transferring the giraffes on the back into a smaller image on the front of the vest.

Ice Wine Fantasy

27.5" w x 27.75" h

Sewing and cutting apart fabric in this manner is called “Convergence”. After the background was sewn, I added grape vines and embellished them.

Due to the complexity of growth and harvesting grapes for wine production, every grape hopes to grow up and become wine.

$575.00

Visions of Scotland

10 3/4" W. x 17 1/4" L.

$325.00

Hand Appliqué & quilting, beading & embellishments

Accepted into the "Scotland Rocks" "Wee" quilt challenge 2008, McDougall Cottage.
The hills, valley & lakes of scotland had me dazzled on my visit to St. Andrews in 2000. Over the landscape, the lovely cottages stood out among the fields with their roc fences all around them. This is Scotland to me - the rocks, stones, cottages and land of my ancestors.

Summer Birches

$600.00

Created for a President's Challenge for our local guild, 2008.  Three fabrics had to be used and visible.  I love using the "snippet" method to create scenes and texture.  These Summer Birches were made using the 3 fabrics, with the addition of silks and nettings.
