The theme of Harmony and Discord quickly brought to mind the Comedy & Tragedy masks that are abundant in Venice at Carnival Time.  I portray in fabric what these characters are expressing in life.

Machine appliqued, satin stich, wired fibres, cotton, beads, feathers and free-motion machine quilted.

"I live in a thriving art community and this piece represents the colourful neighbourhood that comes to mind, even though, in reality, the streetscape doesn't exude quite so many hues. I hope it shows that harmony and rhythm can be found anywhere."

"Cryin' the Blues"

"The Blues are at home in the south where the summer days are lazy and the rhythm is slow and moody. These two sit beneath the live oaks, dripping with Spanish moss, hoping that visitors will drop a penny or two in the hat so they can buy a shot of bourbon."
